Install Theme

Before installing {theme} theme, you have to install WordPress. To install WordPress, please check this codex page: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

There’s two ways installing {theme} theme.

Method 1: Install from WP backend.

We suppose that you’ve logged into your WP backend.

  • Step 1: Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes
  • Step 2: Click “Add New” then click “Upload Theme”
  • Step 3: Upload {themeslug}.zip file then click “Activate”.
  • Step 4: Go to Dashboard > {theme} > Install Plugins to install necessary plugins.

Method 2: Install theme via FTP.

We suppose that you have knowledge about FTP. FileZilla is a free FTP software you can learn more about it here.

  • Step 1: Unzip your download package from withemes, you’ll see a folder “{themeslug}”.
  • Step 2: Upload folder {themeslug} to ROOT_FOLDER/wp-content/themes/ directory on your server and wait for uploading process completed.
  • Step 3: Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, you’ll see {theme} theme there. Click activate the theme.
  • Step 4: Go to Dashboard > {theme} > Install Plugins to install necessary plugins.

Import Demo

{one_click}

{theme} comes with One-click import demo. Please visit Dashboard > {theme} > Import Demo click Import to start importing process. Please double check that:

  • You have installed all neccessary plugins in Appearance > {theme} Install Plugins menu.
  • You have a generally-good server configuration to run the import. Please visit Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info > Server to check and make sure that you have PHP time limit at least 300, PHP post max size 30MB.
After finsing importing, a message like this will appear.

Customize Theme

{theme} uses Live Customizer, a native option panel from WordPress. You can can all available theme settings in Dashboard > Appearance > Customize.

Header

Header section allows you to enable / disable header search, social icons and select text logo or image logo.

To set up header navigation, please go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus, create any menu and assign it as Primary.


To set up header social icons, please go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus, create any menu and assign it to Social Icons. Theme automatically turns any facebook.com link into facebook icon, twtitter.com link into twitter icon and so on.

Footer

Here you can set up footer logo, write your own copyright text and enable / disable footer social icons or scroll up link.

Blog

Here you can control main blog sidebar left/right or fullwidth blog. All other options are obvious.

To change the blog layout, please go to Customize > Blog to select your preferred layout.

Please note that if you wanna control number of posts to show on front page, you must go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading.

Typography

{theme} allows you to enter any font face for positions: body text, heading text, navigation menu and text logo. To select font, please go to Customize > Typography section. Here we’ll take example with Body font, for others you can set up similarly.

Enter any font into your font face input field. If it’s a Google font, theme will help you to load it automatically. Please make sure that you enter correct Google font name.

If it’s a custom font, you’ll need to load font face yourself by using this plugin. Once you had font name, just enter the font name into the input field.

Featured Posts

To set up featured slider, please go to Customize > Featured Posts to enable this area and select the source for featured posts. By default, featured posts will be used for the slider.

Featured posts are posts marked star in your post list.

Another method to set a post as featured, is to use post settings below the post editor while editing your post.

Post/Page Options

You can find each post / page option below each post / page right below the editor. With those settings, you can set sidebar state (left, right, none), enter subtitle..

Post Format

To enable video posts, audio posts or gallery posts, please select corresponding post format and enter things into Format Options.

Set up Pages

About Page

Please go to Dashboard > Pages > Add New to create new page, name it About and fill out your own content.

Contact Page

  1. To set up a contact page, please install Contact Form 7. This is the most popular contact form for WordPress. You can also install it in Dashboard > {theme} > Install Plugins.
  2. Create any page (Dashboard > Pages > Add New), name it Contact Me (or whatever).
  3. Create a contact form in Dashboard > Contact > Add new.
  4. Copy the form shortcode into your page. It looks like: [contact-form-7 id="60" title="Contact form 1"]

Subscribe Form

  • {theme} uses Mailchimp For WP plugin to create a subscribe form. You can also install it in Dashboard > {theme} > Install Plugins.
  • Go to Dashboard > Mailchimp For WP menu and enter your API key. See plugin page for detailed documentation where to find my API key.
  • You can drag & drop Mailchimp widget in any sidebar in Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets.

Inline Subscribe Form Code

To obtain the inline subscribe form, please use following code for your form:

Translate your theme

There’re 2 methods:

Method 1: Use a plugin such as Loco Translate (or any translation plugin) and follow its instruction.

Method 2: Manual translate your theme:

{theme} includes {themeslug}.pot file in {themeslug}/languages/ foler (you’ll find it once unzip {themeslug}.zip). Open it with some Translation software, say POEdit. Translate all words you need and save 2 files *po and *mo as suitable names. For example, if you want to translate to Germany, save your files as de_DE.po and de_DE.mo. See Installing WordPress In Your Language for more details about file name.

Open file wp-config.php in your WordPress root folder and looking for the line define(‘WPLANG’, ”); Replace ” by the language you want. See Installing WordPress in Your Language for more details.
